U-18 Kings’ Marks taken in 1st round of NA3HL Draft

DALLAS, TX — Thunder Bay under-18 Kings goaltender Keenan Marks was taken in the first round, fifth overall, by the Mid-Cities Jr. Stars in the North American 3 Hockey League Draft on Wednesday.

Mid-Cities competes out of the eight-team South Division in the NA3HL and are based out of the Dallas, Texas suburb of Euless.

The 18-year-old Marks had a 2.74 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage for the Kings in Greater Toronto Hockey League play this season.

He also recorded the series-clinching victory for Thunder Bay in a two-game sweep of the Kenora Thistles in the Hockey Northwestern Ontario AAA U-18 district championship.

The Kings now head to Virden, Man., for the TELUS Cup West Regional, April 28 through May 1.

Awaiting the winner there will be a berth to the TELUS Cup national U18 championship next month in Okotoks, Alta.
