THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay under-18 Kings will be back on home ice this weekend when they host the Sudbury U18 Wolves in a trio of Great North Hockey League contests at Fort William First Nation Arena.
It’s expected to be another stern test for the Kings as Sudbury will head to the Lakehead tied for first place in the GNHL standings with 10 points while sporting a 4-0-2-0 overall record.
Action in the three-game set begins Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m.
The two clubs will then meet again that evening in a 7:30 p.m. start before wrapping things up Sunday in a 9:30 a.m. puck drop back at FWFNA.
Thunder Bay currently sits tied for fourth in GNHL play with a 3-4-0-0 mark.

The Kings went 2-2 in a four-pack of GNHL matchups on the road last weekend.
Sept. 24 @ New Liskeard Cubs: Owen Trevisanutto’s second goal of the game, coming 7:14 into the third period, proved to be the game-winner as Thunder Bay skated to a 5-4 victory.
Jackson Pucci; Sam Pierce; Ethan Williamson were the other marksmen while Jackson Walker dished out a pair of assists in the triumph, including one on the deciding tally.
Picking up the win in net was Kainaan MacGillivray.
Sept. 25 @ North Bay U16 Trappers: A solid start in this one sent Thunder Bay on their way to a 6-3 win over North Bay at the Powassan Sportsplex.
Carson Clarke; Michael Figliomeni and Kallem Beaucage notched goals in the opening frame, with Williamson converting in the middle stanza before Pierce and Walker scored in the third to wrap it up.
Charlie Crane and Figliomeni also supplied a pair of helpers and Carson Bresolin was the winning goaltender.
Sept. 25 @ New Liskeard Cubs: A tough start saw the Kings give up four against in the first period versus the Cubs as they went on to fall 6-2.
Ben Krys and Crane got the club back in it during the second period, before New Liskeard got two more, including one into an empty net late to secure the result.
Sept. 26 @ New Liskeard Cubs: In the finale, the Kings fell behind early once more and could not recover in a 4-2 setback.
Scoring for Thunder Bay in defeat were Crane and Pierce and saw Trevisanutto help set-up both tallies.
