U-16 Kings set to begin play at Silver Stick in Whitby

HITBY, Ont. – The Thunder Bay Kings under-16 side are in Whitby, Ont., to compete in the annual international Silver Stick tournament.

Game action for the U-16 Kings begins Thursday evening as they take on the Mississauga Senators at 6:30 p.m.

Friday’s docket has the club with two games on the slate.

First up will be Rochester Selects from upstate New York in a 9:45 a.m. start before wrapping up the day against the host Whitby Wildcats at 4:40 p.m.

They’ll then wrap-up round robin play Saturday vs. the Huron-Perth Lakers that will get underway at 10:30 a.m.

There are a total of 35 teams competing in the AAA U-16 division.

The Top eight squads will advance to quarter-final play Saturday night while the semifinals and championship game are set for Sunday.
