Kings’ alumnus DeGrazia named to Team Canada East World Jr. A Challenge roster

HUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Kings alumnus Nicholas DeGrazia was one of 22 players named Wednesday to the Team Canada East roster that will compete at the 2019 World Junior A Challenge, Dec. 7-15, in Dawson Creek, B.C.

DeGrazia, 17, is a member of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Rayside-Balfour Canadians.

He presently paces all NOJHL rookies in offensive production having registered 27 points in 24 outings, including 13 goals.

A draft choice of the Ontario Hockey League’s Sudbury Wolves, DeGrazia has also seen action in three OHL contests so far this season where he scored once and helped set-up another.

Meanwhile, another former Kings’ forward, in Nikolas Campbell, was recently named to attend the Team Canada West Selection Camp, which goes Dec. 1-3 in Calgary.

Campbell is in his rookie season in the Superior International Junior Hockey League’s Thunder Bay North Stars.

The 17-year-old Campbell currently leads all first-year North Stars in scoring with 18 points in 20 games, on seven goals and 11 assists.

His totals place him fourth in SIJHL rookie scoring.

Both DeGrazia and Campbell were named 2018-19 North American Prospects Hockey League under-18 Elite Division All-Stars last season helping lead the Kings to the first-ever NAPHL Dixon Cup championship.

DeGrazia was also named the Most Sportsmanlike Player award recipient at the 2019 TELUS Cup Canadian National Midget Hockey Championship, held this past April in Thunder Bay.
