U15 Kings heading out for further GTHL action

THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay under-15 Kings will be heading out for their next round Greater Toronto Hockey League competition, which goes this weekend.

Thunder Bay will face a stern test to commence play Friday evening as they take on the Markham Majors (10-1-2) at 7:30 p.m.

Markham is on a seven-game heater, with their winning percentage of .846 tying them for first overall in U15 AAA action.

A pair of tilts are then on the Kings docket Saturday.

They’ll face-off against another solid opponent, in the Mississauga Senators (11-2-2) at 10:45 a.m., before wrapping up the day versus the North York Rangers (1-13-0) in a 3:25 p.m. start.

Finishing up Sunday at 12:25 p.m., Thunder Bay will meet the Toronto Titans (1-11-1).

Meanwhile, the U18 Kings posted a 1-3 record in GTHL competition this past weekend.

After opening with a 4-1 loss to the Mississauga Senators, they were blanked 4-0 by the Toronto Young Nationals in their second outing.

They came back to edge the Markham Majors 3-2 before being crowned 8-1 by the Vaughn Kings who top the U18 AAA table, in terms of win mark, at .733.
