GTHL season concludes for U15 Kings

The Thunder Bay under-15 Kings wrapped up their 2024-25 Greater Toronto Hockey League season, dropping each of their final four contests played.

Beginning with a 4-2 setback to the Toronto Young Nationals, Owen Trevisanutto and Mason Glousher were Thunder Bay’s goal-scorers.

They were then clipped 5-1 by the Toronto Red Wings in a match-up that saw Gavin Godick find the back of the net for the Kings.

Following that, they were outscored 8-4 by the highly-touted Toronto Jr. Canadiens.

Collecting the tallies for the club were Trevisanutto, Glousher, Cullen McCormack and Felix Sapay, while Copper Disher supplied a pair of assists.

Then wrapping up GTHL competition for 2024-25, they were blanked 5-0 by the Mississauga Rebels.

Going 5-30-1 overall in GTHL action, Thunder Bay finished up in 12th place in the 13-team U15 AAA division, that featured the Top 5 ranked teams, and six of seven, in the province.

With no challenger in the upcoming Hockey Northwestern Ontario district playdowns, the Kings will advance directly to the All-Ontario U15 championship, which goes April 9-13, in Markham.

Meanwhile, Thunder Bay’s U16 Kings are off to Ottawa this weekend for a four-game set.

They’ll hit the ice Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. against the Ottawa Jr. 67’s before facing off with the same 67’s squad Saturday in an 11:15 a.m. start.

Later in the day they’ll meet the Eastern Ontario Wild at 6:15 p.m., prior to finishing up versus the Wild Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
