Kings earn multiple awards at Big Nickel

SUDBURY – Fresh off winning the championship at the 38th annual Big Nickel Tournament in Sudbury, the Thunder Bay AAA bantam Kings also garnered multiple awards for their on-ice efforts throughout the course of the event.

Kings forward Jeremy Dunmore was named Most Valuable Player in the bantam division and was also selected a tournament all-star.

Joining him on the Big Nickel all-star team was defenceman Jack Cook.

Meanwhile forward Noah Broughton was recognized twice by picking up player of the game laurels in the championship game as well as Best Team Player accolades.

Earning the Big Nickel goaltender honour for lowest goals-against average was the Thunder Bay duo of Gage Stewart and Brayden McKever, who combined to allow just four goals in six outings, while posting three shutouts to help backstop the Kings to the crown.
