PRO Kids Mission
PRO Kids vision is that all children and youth in Thunder Bay are able to participate in recreation activities that boost their self-esteem and promote their healthy growth through the learning of new skills, increased knowledge and personal development.
PRO Kids will provide program and financial assistance to as many children and youth (ages 0 – 18) as possible who, due to lack of funds, are unable to participate in registered recreation activities.
About POSITIVE RECREATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR KIDS (PRO KIDS)
PRO Kids recognizes that for many children and youth in Thunder Bay program fees are a barrier to participation in recreation, sport and cultural programs.
From hockey to theatre, PRO Kids works with over 200 activity partners who donate spaces in their programs so that children in financial need still have the opportunity to participate.However, the need outpaces the available donated program spaces so PRO Kids must raise funds to place more children into programs. Since 1998 more than 24,000 activity placements have been made through PRO Kids.
