Kings vs Thistles for HNO Championships This Weekend at FWFN

This weekend at First Nations 1, the U13AAA and U18AAA Kings play the Kenora Thistles in a best of 3 series for the Hockey Northwestern Ontario Championship.

Game times are listed below.  There is a $5 entry fee (so please bring cash).  There will also be 50/50 draws.

U13AAA

The winner earns a trip to the AAA Provincials in April in Vaughan.

The Kings finished their GTHL season strong, compiling the best regular season GTHL record out of any of the Kings teams.

The Thistles are made up of players from their U13AA team along with players from around the region (Fort Frances, Dryden, Sioux Lookout).  The Thistles include a number of returning players from their entry in the 2023 AAA Provincials.  The Thistles were very strong in Manitoba league play this year and against top Minnesota teams, including wins over Eastman Selects White, International Falls and Eagan.

U18AAA

The winner earns a trip to the Telus Western Regionals in Winnipeg.

Both teams have battled hard to get to this stage in the season.
