Kings opponents set for bantam provincials
THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay bantam Kings opponents for next week’s all-Ontario AAA championship in Rockland, Ont., have now been finalized.
Game action for the Kings will get underway on Monday at 1 p.m. as they take on the London Jr. Knights.
That will be followed by an 8:30 p.m. encounter vs. the host Eastern Ontario Wild.
Providing the club’s lone opposition on Tuesday will be the Whitby Wildcats in a contest that starts at 6 p.m.
Wednesday will feature the Kings squaring off with the Ottawa Senators at 3 p.m.
They will then wrap-up round robin play Thursday beginning with a 9 a.m. face-off with the Mississauga Rebels before finishing up against the North Bay Trappers at 3 p.m.
The top four teams in the seven-team provincial championship will advance to semifinal play on Friday, April 1.
Medals will then be contested for on Saturday, April 2 with the third place game going at 11 a.m. followed by the final between the semifinal winners at 2 p.m.
Thunder Bay captured a silver medal at least year’s all-Ontario bantam championship in Timmins.
Next year’s event will be hosted by Hockey Northwestern Ontario, the Thunder Bay Minor Hockey Association and the Kings and will be held March 27-April 1, 2017at the Fort William Gardens.
