Peewee Kings heading to provincials

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Thunder Bay Kings are off to Essex, Ont., Sunday to compete in the All-Ontario Peewee Hockey Championship, April 9-13.

The seven-team field will see the Kings going up against the top AAA peewee clubs in the province.

Thunder Bay opens up play Monday at 10 a.m. as they take on the Nickel City Sons from Sudbury.

Game 2 of the day has them squaring off with the powerful Mississauga Reps at 4 p.m.

Tuesday they will take on the host Sun County Panthers at 2 p.m. while the team’s lone match-up Wednesday will be against the Kitchener Jr. Rangers at noon.

They will then wrap-up round robin competition Thursday with a pair of tilts.

Awaiting the Kings will be the Oakville Rangers at 8 a.m. before they finish up vs. the Ottawa Senators at 4 p.m.

The top four teams will advance to medal round play Friday.
