LAS VEGAS, Nev. – With Thunder Bay product Carter George being selected by the Los Angeles Kings Saturday in Day 2 of the 2024 NHL Draft in Las Vegas, he becomes the 36th alumnus of the Thunder Bay Kings program ever to be selected.
George was taken in the second round, 57th overall, by the Kings, from the Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League.
He also backstopped Canada to a gold medal at the 2024 World under-18 championship back in early May in Finland.
George went on to be named the top goaltender by the IIHF Directorate, finishing with a spotless 6-0 record, that featured back-to-back 31-save efforts in a semifinal win versus Sweden and a thrilling come from behind victory over the United States in the title game.
