THUNDER BAY – It will be the first of back-to-back weekends for the Thunder Bay under 18 Kings program in Greater Toronto Hockey League play, beginning Friday.
Up first for the Kings will be an 8:30 p.m. encounter against the Mississauga Senators (4-11-2).
They’ll then take on the highly-touted Toronto Marlboros (13-4-1) Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m., before concluding their day with a 4 p.m. match-up versus the Markham Majors (3-9-5).
Wrapping it up Sunday, Thunder Bay meets the Reps Hockey Club (8-5-5) in a 10:30 a.m. face-off.
Meanwhile, the U15 Kings went 1-3 in GTHL action this past weekend.
Meeting two of the top three teams in the U15 AAA division, Thunder Bay had a tough go, falling 12-3 to the 12-1-2 Markham Majors, then being bounced 9-3 by the first place Mississauga Senators, who are 14-2-2 overall.
Felix Sapay had a goal and an assist in the setback against the Majors, while Mason Glousher and Cooper Disher supplied singles.
In the contest with the Senators, Gavin Godick tallied twice for the Kings and Jack Koski had the other.
Coming back to beat the North York Rangers 4-1, the U15s saw Godick notch two more markers, and help set-up a Cullen McCormack effort.
Sapay had the game-winner in the triumph while Kainaan Macgillivray earned the victory in net.
The squad then finished up with a 5-1 loss against the Toronto Titans, with Owen Trevisanutto providing the lone goal for the Kings, off an assist by Disher.
