Kings complete 2024-25 campaigns at provincials

THUNDER BAY – A tough go against some solid competition saw the Thunder Bay under-13 and U15 Kings wrap-up their respective 2024-25 campaigns in All-Ontario AAA provincial championship play Saturday.

In Sudbury, the U13 Kings went winless, while the Thunder Bay’s U15 squad posted a 1-5 record in match-ups held at the Thornhill Community Centre.

The U13s suffered setbacks against the Chatham-Kent Cyclones (9-0); Sudbury Wolves (5-3); Ottawa Valley Titans (6-4); North Bay Trappers (11-1); Vaughan Kings (10-3) and the Barrie Jr. Colts (7-0).

Pacing the club offensively was Lucas Ianni (3G-2A) who picked up a team-leading five points.

Next on the squad was Nathan Pugliese (4G) as he notched the club-best four tallies.

Jones Kochan (1G-2A) and Jacob Chaykowski (3A) chipped in with three points apiece and Cash Comeau (2A) had a pair.

Cruz Obie (1G), Ben Towell (1G) and Jackson Bradley (1G) supplied single markers.

As for the U15 Kings, they defeated the Ottawa Jr. 67’s (6-4), but suffered defeats versus the Sudbury Wolves (4-1); London Jr. Knights (5-1); Markham Majors (13-0); Barrie Jr. Colts (5-1) and the Toronto Jr. Canadiens (9-0).

Sharing the team scoring lead at the provincial event were Cooper Disher (1G-3A) and Owen Trevisanutto (4) with four points each.

They were followed by Jack Koski (3G), while Carson Clarke (2g) Felix Sapay (1G-1A) and Charlie Crane (2a) chipped in with two points apiece.
