THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Kings are off to the provincial capital Friday to begin their second season of competition in the Greater Toronto Hockey League.
Thunder Bay’s under-18, U16 and U15 teams are all back for another campaign in GTHL play while the Kings’ U13 side will be making their debut in full-league action.
All four squads will play a 36-game regular season throughout the 2022-23 campaign, with the top eight clubs in each of those AAA divisions advancing to the playoffs.
Game 1 for each of the Kings’ clubs go Friday evening with U15s meeting the Toronto Marlboros at 7:40 p.m., with the U13s take on the Mississauga Rebels in an 8:10 p.m. start; while the U16s going up against the North York Rangers and U18s face off with the Toronto Red Wings in a pair of 9:25 p.m. starts, at venues across the city.
Two more tilts apiece await the teams Saturday before they wrap-up play with single contests Sunday.
CHARTER FLIGHTS: The Kings have once again partnered with Air Canada in booking chartered flights, to and from Toronto, for each of their GTHL weekends.
This allows each of the teams to make the trips together and alleviate any potential travel conflicts with regular flights, especially in terms of making sure all their equipment, and such, can be also be transported.
There are a limited number of seats available for interested parties in making a trip to Toronto, to watch the Kings, or otherwise, over the course of their GTHL slate.
