It’s back to Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) competition this weekend for the Thunder Bay under-15 and U18 Kings.
Each team will play four times, beginning with the U15s facing off against the Toronto Young Nationals (10-19-1) Friday at 7 p.m.
That will be followed by the U18s meeting the Mississauga Senators (10-15-4) at 8:30 p.m., in a pair of contests held at Herb Carnegie Arena.
At various venues across the GTA, Saturday’s slate features the under-15 side taking on the Don Mills Flyers (20-8-2) and the Reps Hockey Club (13-13-5) at 12:30 p.m. and 5:10 p.m. respectively.
As for the U18 squad, they’ll tangle with the Reps (13-7-8) and Toronto Red Wings (12-14-3) in 10:45 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. starts.
Wrapping up the weekend Sunday, Thunder Bay meets the Mississauga Rebels (9-15-4) in U18 action at 10:40 a.m. before the U15s finish up against a strong Markham Majors (22-5-2) side in a 12:15 p.m. puck drop.
LAST TIME OUT
In four GTHL outings, Jan. 17-19, Thunder Bay’s under-15s posted a record of one and three.
They began with an 8-2 setback versus the Markham Majors.
Felix Sapay and Mason Glousher were the goal-scorers, while Cullen McCormack dished out a pair of assists.
That was followed by a 7-2 defeat at the hands of the Mississauga Senators.
Finding the back of the net for the Kings were Glousher and Cooper Disher.
Next came a 4-3 win against the Toronto Titans.
In the triumph over the Titans, Owen Trevisanutto tallied twice for Thunder Bay, with Ethan Williamson and Gavin Godick supplying singles.
They then finished up with 7-2 loss at the hands of the Don Mills Flyers, seeing Disher and Glousher getting the goals.
As for the U18 Kings, they had a five-game stint, going 0-4-1.
They fell to the Vaughan Kings (5-1); Toronto Young Nationals (7-0); Toronto Marlboros (4-0); North York Rangers (3-1) and tied the Toronto Jr. Canadiens (1-1).
