SUDBURY, Ont. – The Ottawa Senators rallied from a two-goal deficit and notched four unanswered markers to defeat the Thunder Bay peewee Kings 4-2 Monday afternoon in Day 1 play at the 2016 all-Ontario championship in Sudbury.

After a scoreless first period, Thunder Bay got on the board early in the middle stanza as Ryan Doucette notched one on the power play at 1:06 with Nolan Desjardins and Sam Garon adding assists.

The Kings came right back and added another 49 seconds after that as Jett Mintenko finished off the work of Tyler Lewis and Alex Atwill.

Later it the frame it was Ottawa’s turn to tally twice in quick order as Brandt Clarke connected twice in just over a minute, including a man advantage marker with his initial goal.

The contest stayed tied until the latter stages of the match-up as Easton Ryan buried the eventual game-winner with 3:12 remaining.

Thunder Bay pulled netminder Gage Stewart in the final minute as they pressed for the equalizer, but Ottawa’s Brandt finished off the comeback with a hat trick that was scored into an empty net with 33 seconds to go.
