BLAINE, Minn. – The Thunder Bay peewee Kings remain unbeaten at the Minnesota Gone Wild tournament, powered by OneHockey in Blaine, Minn., while the bantams wrapped up competition at 55th annual Silver Stick International tournament in Port Huron, Mich., with a setback.

The 3-0-1 peewees began their day by rallying for three third period goals to earn a point against Omaha AAA skating to a 3-3 tie before wrapping up round robin action with a 3-2 triumph over the Iowa Wild.

Over in Michigan, the bantams dropped their final contest of the Silver Stick International in Port Huron falling 4-1 to Detroit Belle Tire.

In peewee play, the Kings trailed 3-0 entering the final stanza, but saw Jett Mintenko strike for a pair of markers early in the session to pull his side back to within one.

Thunder Bay then got the equalizer with 3:45 remaining as Jack Pineau set-up Alex Arella.

In bantam action, after a scoreless first frame, Thunder Bay got on the board with 9:51 left in the middle stanza on a Michael Stubbs effort that was assisted by Cole MacKenzie.

Belle Tire however came back with two of their own before the period was complete, including notching the game-winner with 11 seconds remaining.

They then tacked on two more in the third to secure the win.
