Major midget Kings edged in OT by Arizona in NAPHL play

BLAINE, Minn. – A Jonas Edwards goal 2:39 into overtime was the difference as the Arizona Bobcats rallied to edge the Thunder Bay major midget Kings 3-2 Saturday evening in a North American Prospects Hockey League match-up in Blaine, Minn.

Thunder Bay did open the scoring 3:13 into the contest on an Evan Nicholas effort.

The Kings then went up 2-0 near the six-minute mark of the second as Robert Tyska scored during a man advantage opportunity.

Arizona began their comeback with under three minutes left in the second as they pulled to within one.

The Bobcats then forced extra time with 73 seconds left in in regulation as they knotted the affair late.

Jonas then completed the Arizona rally in OT to pull out the win.

Shots on goal favoured the Bobcats 26-25 with Seth McKay suffering the setback for Thunder Bay.

The major midgets wrap-up their opening weekend in the NAPHL Sunday as they take on Minnesota Elite Metro North at 12:30 p.m.
