54th annual Kitchener Blueline Tournament on tap for U16 Kings

KITCHENER, Ont. – The Thunder Bay under-16 Kings will be in southern Ontario over the next few days to compete in the 54th annual Kitchener Blueline Tournament that runs Friday through Sunday.

A total of 14 teams will be vying for the title in the U16 AAA division.

Game action for the Kings begins Friday morning as they take on the Rochester Coalition of New York State at 8 a.m.

They’ll then return to the ice later in the day with a 2:30 p.m. matinee versus Okanagan Hockey Ontario, who are based out of Whitby.

Two more tilts are also on tap for Thunder Bay Saturday beginning with an 8:30 a.m., encounter with the North Central Predators from Orillia.

A match-up with the North Bay Trappers will then wrap-up round robin competition for Thunder Bay at 3:45 p.m.

The top eight clubs from there will advance to the playoff round, that goes Sunday.

Quarter-final action begins at 7 a.m., the semifinals start at 1:45 p.m., setting the stage for the championship game at 7:15 p.m.
