Kings’ alumnus Gerrie on NHL Central Scouting mid-term rankings list

HUNDER BAY — Thunder Bay Kings alumnus Keighan Gerrie was named recently named to the National Hockey League’s Central Scouting mid-term rankings list as a prelude to the 2019 NHL Drat, which goes this June in Vancouver.

The 17-year-old Thunder Bay product was ranked 140th overall, among North American skaters, by NHLCS in their mid-season listings.

Gerrie currently skates for the first place Thunder Bay North Stars of the Superior International Junior Hockey League.

He was also selected to compete with Team West at the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s Prospects Game held on Tuesday in Okotoks, Alta., where Gerrie Team West side defeated Team East 5-2.

Last’s season’s SIJHL Rookie of the Year, Gerrie leads the North Stars in scoring with 53 points in 29 games, including 26 goals.

His offensive totals are the second-most among all SIJHL players.
