Kings announce 2018-19 peewee and bantam coaching staffs

THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Kings AAA hockey program has announced the coaching staffs for its AAA peewee and major bantam teams for the 2018-19 campaign.

Moving up after a season of the helm of the peewee Kings is Lorne Vis, who will now serve as head coach of the bantam squad.

Joining his staff as assistants will be former Ontario Hockey League and professional players Bobby Bolt and Jared Staal.

Also on board as assistant coaches will be Ian Staal and Larry Johanson while Kari Rikkonen is the team’s goaltender coach.

Rounding out the bantam staff is trainer Vic Toppozini and manager Lorraine Jewett.

Leading Thunder Bay’s peewee side will be head coach Bradey Fox, who will also serve as the Skills Coach for the bantams.

His assistants will be Mike Davidson and Sheldon Elvish while Rikkonen will also be their goaltending coach.

The club’s manager is Valerie Davidson.

The Kings are continuing to look for volunteers for next year’s TELUS Cup Canadian National Midget Championship, April 22-28, 2019, at the Fort William Gardens.

It will mark the first time in 31 years the national midget event will be held in the Lakehead.
