Kings Announce New Development Program

The Thunder Bay Kings are proud to announce our new Development Program.

The goal of this program is to help to increase development at the grassroots level for all players, including younger players (U9 and up) and non-Kings players.

The Development Program has brought in an impressive coaching group.  The coaching group includes highly qualified coaches such as:  Rick Adduono, Lonny Bohonos, Nolan Nicholas, Jeff Adduono, Dene Poulin, Aaron Gunn,  Joe Newhouse, Billy Exell, Charlie Corness and Dave Olynick.  These coaches have playing and coaching experience at the highest levels, including the NHL, AHL, ECHL, Europe, NCAA, OHL and Junior A.

The program will have a primary focus on skating, passing, shooting and stickhandling, as well as situational skills, hockey IQ, timing and awareness.

The program will run at various times of the year, including both on and off season.

Each on-ice session will have a limited amount of players and the cost to register will be kept at a reasonable amount in order to be accessible for more families.

As part of the Development Program, the Kings will be running a Skills Development Camp for U9, U11, U13 and U15 from August 23-25, 2024 at Fort William First Nation Arena.  Each group will have 3 on-ice, 1.5 hour sessions.  Cost is $200 for skaters and goalies are free.  Numbers will be capped at 24 per group.  Exact time slots will be announced prior to the skates.

Sign up for the August 23-25 camp is HERE  or under the SHOP tab on the navigation bar.
