RISCO, Texas – The Thunder Bay major and minor midget Kings both wrapped up Round 3 play in the North American Prospects Hockey League in suburban Dallas Sunday with a pair of convincing victories.
Action in the under-18 Elite Division saw the majors thump the Nashville Jr. Predators 8-1 while the minors blanked Pursuit of Excellence from Kelowna, B.C., 6-0 in under-16 competition.
Pacing the Thunder Bay U-18 attack was Peter Hannula, who collected a hat trick.
Also scoring for the Kings in the romp over Nashville were Jordan Baranesky, who tallied twice and picked up a pair of assists, while Tarcisius Tibishkogijig, Nicholas DeGrazia and Mackenzie Sedgwick supplied singles.
Nikolas Campbell chipped in offensively with a trio of helpers with DeGrazia and Sedgwick adding two assists apiece to go with their tallies.
Jordan Smith picked up the win in net for Thunder Bay.
In the U-16 Kings triumph over POE, Julien Lefebvre posted the shutout for the Kings.
Jack Michaelis picked up a pair of the goals in the decision.
Also scoring were Colton Crisler, Alex Pineau, Matthew Valiquette and Shaymus Stevenson as they put the game away with four third period markers.
With Round 3 of the NAPHL having coming to a close the major midgets went 3-1 over the weekend to move into first place tie in the Elite Division with 18 points on a 9-3 record.
The 8-3-1 U-16 Kings remain in top spot in their group with 17 points overall through a dozen games.
Round 4 of the NAPHL goes November 30 through December 3 in Blaine, Minn.
