Kings Fight Cancer campaign underway

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Thunder Bay Kings AAA hockey organization is stepping up to do their part in the community with the launch of their Kings Fight Cancer program.

During all Kings home games at Fort William First Nation Arena in both October and November for each of their four teams, players will be wearing special Kings Fight Cancer jerseys to help promote the cause through fundraising efforts and awareness.

Each of the four clubs is also wearing Kings Fight Cancer decals on their helmets throughout the 2016-17 season.

Those decals are also available for other minor hockey teams in the city and northwestern Ontario to purchase to wear on their helmets in a show of support with 100% of all sales going directly to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation’s Northern Cancer Fund.

“We all know someone close to us that has be affected by this horrible disease and anything we can do to help in the fight is the least we can do,” offered Kings President Gary Linquist.

“We’ve had tremendous support already on this and we look for this program to carry on and grow from here,” added Linquist.
