Kings return to NAPHL play this weekend

HUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Kings two AAA midget teams return to the ice this weekend in Blaine, Minn., for Round 2 action in the North American Prospect Hockey League.

Competition for the major midget under-18 squad starts Saturday at 4:15 p.m. when they take on the Arizona Bobcats.

Sunday’s slate sees a pair of games on their slate as they meet the Colorado Springs Tigers at 4 p.m. before concluding the day with a 10:15 p.m. encounter vs. the Shattuck-St. Mary’s Sabres.

They will then wrap-up things up Monday morning at 10 a.m. when they face-off against the Florida Alliance.

As for Thunder Bay’s minor midget Kings side, they play twice Saturday as they square off with Arizona’s under-16s at noon before tangling with the Florida U-16 program at 8 p.m.

Sunday features a 6:15 p.m. start vs. the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes before finishing with Colorado Springs U-16 Monday at 8 a.m.

Both Kings’ clubs went 3-1 in Round 1 of NAPHL play back in September.
