HUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Thunder Bay Happy Time Tours major and Sportop minor midget Kings are off to Blaine, Minn., to commence competition in the North American Prospects Hockey League.
The defending U-18 Dixon Cup champion Happy Time Tours Kings open up regular season play Thursday evening at 6 p.m. vs. Team Illinois at Fogerty Ice Arena.
Up next will be a 2:15 p.m. get together Friday against the Illinois U-18 High School Showcase side at the Schwan Super Rinks.
Saturday’s slate has Thunder Bay taking on the Minnesota Muskies at 4 p.m., back at Fogerty, before concluding Round 1 of the NAPHL Sunday at noon vs. the Minnesota Loons, which will be held at Schwan.
As for the Sportop minor midget Kings, their first NAPHL match-up also goes Friday as they tangle with the Minnesota Walleye in a 2 p.m. faceoff at Fogerty.
From there, their final three outings will be held at Schwan beginning Friday as they square off with the Minneapolis Lakers at 6 p.m.
The Indy Fuel from Indiana will be on the club’s docket Saturday at 8:30 a.m. before taking on the New Jersey Jr. Titans Sunday at 8:15 a.m.

Meanwhile, the Maritime Petroleum Advisory Services (MPAS) bantam Kings will also be on the ice in the Minneapolis area this weekend taking part in a four-game set.
They’ll play the Minnesota Green Giants Thursday at 10:20 p.m. before meeting the Minnesota Moose U-14 and the Arizona Bobcats Friday at 2:20 p.m. and 10 p.m. respectively Friday.
Wrapping up play at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, the Kings well see another Minnesota side, the U-14 Walleye, provide the opposition.
