Minor midget Kings season comes to a close at OHL Cup

TORONTO – Led by a Tyson Foerster hat trick, the Barrie Jr. Colts defeated the Thunder Bay minor midget Kings 5-2 Friday afternoon at the OHL Cup in Toronto.

Foerster had a tally in each of the first two periods to put Barrie up by a pair before Nicholas DeGrazia finished off a Konner Kuuskivi feed to get Thunder Bay on the board 7:09 into the middle frame.

However, Foerster came right back 66 seconds later for his third of the day to make it 3-1 for the eventual game-winner.

Michael Stubbs brought the Kings closer six and a half minutes into the third, but Ryan Lunn added some insurance for the Colts with just over four minutes remaining in regulation.

Barrie then finished it off as Foerster completed a four-point game by setting up James Hardie to round out the scoring.

Harrison Fleischaker made 33 stops to pick-up the win in net for Barrie while Eric Vanska faced 37 shots in a season-ending setback for Thunder Bay.
