he North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) announced its Apex Learning Virtual School Peak Performers for the month of November. The players were selected based upon their performance at the third NAPHL event of the season, which took place in Frisco, Texas from November 9-12. Stats were based on ALL games played.
18U Apex Peak Performer (Offense) – Nicholas DeGrazia, Thunder Bay Kings
Now the leading scorer in the NAPHL’s 18U Division, Thunder Bay Kings forward Nicholas DeGrazia, 15, had a great event in Texas as the Kings posted a 3-1 record and are now in 2nd place in the Elite Division. The 6’0/160 lbs. native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, had 10 points (5 goals, 5 assists) in the four games, which included three multi-point games. That included a four-point game in a 5-0 win over Wenatchee. For the season, DeGrazia currently leads all NAPHL 18U players in scoring with 19 points to date.

18U Apex Peak Performer (Defense) – Sam Brickley, CarShield AAA
CarShield AAA 18U defenseman Sam Brickley, 18, had his best event of the 2018-19 season in Texas as he registered his first points of the season, scoring six points (4 goals, 2 assists) in the four games during the third event of the season. The 6’0/195 lbs. native of Salt Lake City, Utah, had a four-point game in a 10-0 win over Nashville and also scored goals in shootout losses to both the Dallas Stars Elite and Esmark Stars.

18U Apex Peak Performer (Goaltender) – Adam Bublitz, Colorado Springs Tigers
Colorado Springs 18U goalie Adam Bublitz, 17, helped his team to a perfect 4-0 record during the Texas event by winning both of his starts and allowing just one goal in the process. The 5’10/150 lbs. native of Denver, Colorado, faced 48 shots in his two starts and allowed just a single goal. That included a 20-save shutout in a 1-0 win over Nashville and 27 saves in a 4-1 win over Arizona. For the season, Bublitz has a 2-3-0 record with a 2.41 goals against average and a .908 save percentage.

16U Apex Peak Performer (Offense) – Nikita Asylaev, Alaska Oilers
Now the leading scorer in the NAPHL’s 16U Division, Alaska Oilers 16U forward Nikita Asylaev, 16, had another great event in Texas helping the Oilers to a 3-1 record at the event as they continue to hold down the top spot in the High Performance 16U Division. The 6’0/155 lbs. native of Ufa, Russia, had 12 points in the four games, which included 8 goals and 4 assists. Asylaev had five goals in a 6-2 win over Valley Forge and four points in a 7-1 win over Everett. Asylaev’s 28 points and 16 goals are tops in the 16U Division.

16U Apex Peak Performer (Defense) – Matt Kochanowski, Sioux Falls Power
Sioux Falls 16U defenseman Matt Kochanowski, 15, helped his club to a perfect 4-0 record in Texas as they closed the gap in the top spot in the High Performance 16U Division. The 5’11/193 lbs. native of Apple Valley, Minnesota, had five points (2 goals, 3 assists) in the four wins. That included two goals and an assist in a 10-1 win over Pursuit of Excellence and assists in wins over Colorado Springs and Valley Forge. In 12 games played this season, Kochanowski has 10 points, which is 4th among NAPHL 16U defensemen.

16U Apex Peak Performer (Goaltender) – Hobie Hedquist, Sioux Falls Power
Sioux Falls 16U goalie and Colorado College commit Hobie Hedquist, 15, helped his team to a perfect 4-0 record during the event in Texas as he allowed just two goals in his two starts. The 6’2/188 lbs. native of Heron Lake, Minnesota, stopped 32 of a possible 34 shots during the weekend. That included 13 saves in a 2-1 shootout win over Colorado Springs and 19 saves in a 7-1 win over the Madison Capitols. For the season, Hedquist has a 5-1-1 record with a 1.83 goals against average and an .899 save percentage.
