Peewee Kings season comes to a close

ESSEX, Ont. – The Thunder Bay peewee Kings season came to a close Thursday at the All-Ontario Hockey Championship in Essex, Ont.

Thunder Bay dropped their final two games of the campaign Thursday falling 7-1 to the Oakville Rangers before being blanked 4-0 at the hands of the Ottawa Senators.

In the match-up vs. Oakville, Nick Lardis paced the Rangers’ attack with a hat trick and an assist.

E.J. Paddington notched the lone marker for the Kings in the third period with an assist going to Jonathan Beaucage.

Carter George suffered the defeat in net in that contest while Oliver Tuchenhagen had the setback in the loss against Ottawa, but was selected his side’s player of the game.

Paddington was named Thunder Bay’s player of the game honouree vs. Oakville.

He was also named the championship’s Most Sportsmanlike Player With Ability award recipient for his effort during the seven-team event.
