THUNDER BAY – Three Thunder Bay Kings’ teams will be traveling out of town for games in various locales this week.
There will be a total of 10 tilts on the docket with the under-18; U15 & U14 sides all seeing action.
The U18 Kings resume Great North U18 Hockey League play with two contests apiece against the New Liskeard Cubs and North Bay Trappers.
It begins with an 8 p.m. encounter Thursday as they pay a visit to Don Shepherdson Memorial Arena in New Liskeard.
From there, they’ll then face a stern test Friday (7:30 p.m.) and Saturday (2:30 p.m.) at the Memorial Gardens in North Bay versus the first place Trappers, who top the GNU18HL table with a spotless 13-0-0-0 record.
Sunday will see Thunder Bay wrap-up their weekend with another matchup in New Liskeard at 10 a.m. The Cubs currently sit 7-11-0-1 on the campaign.
As for the U18 Kings, they sport an 8-2-1-1 mark in league play so far this season.
Kellan Ozerkevich; Sawyer Smith and Nathan Vita are the top three point-getters on the team with 18; 16 and 15 respectively.
Nate Girvin paces all defencemen on the squad in scoring with 14 points from the back-end, while Ben Paddington is next with 10.
Netminders Kainaan MacGillivray and Nolan Meadows have picked up four victories each, with MacGillivray also having posted two shutouts.

You also have Thunder Bay’s U15s, who will be heading to Winnipeg for a three-game set against the RINK Academy under-15 Prep team at the Hockey for All Centre.
They will take to the ice twice Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m., prior to wrapping up the day at 5:45 p.m.
The finale is set for 9 a.m. ET Sunday.
Fresh off three tightly-contested affairs at home against the Duluth East Greyhounds bantam A squad where they won 2-1 and 4-3, as well as tied 4-4, the U14 Kings will be heading to Rice Lake, Wis., for a trio of meetings with the Wisconsin Jr. Guardians.
They will play two games Saturday, at 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., before finishing up Sunday in another 9 a.m. face-off.
