Kings’ alumnus Tucker taken in NHL Draft

ALLAS — An alumnus of the Thunder Bay Kings was one of the players selected during the 2018 NHL Draft in Dallas over the weekend.

The St. Louis Blues chose defenceman Tyler Tucker Saturday during Day 2 of the draft.

The 18-year-old blueliner was picked in the seventh round, 200th overall, by the Blues.

Tucker, along with his twin brother Jesse, were both members of the 2014-15 King’s side that captured a silver medal at the All-Ontario bantam championship in Timmins.

He spent this past season in the Ontario Hockey League playing defence for the Barrie Colts where he scored three times and added 20 assists in 59 games. Meanwhile his plus-27 rating tied him for third overall on the club.
