Pair of Kings’ clubs on the road this weekend

THUNDER BAY – Two of the Thunder Bay Kings’ four clubs will be on the road this weekend for a pair of three-game exhibition sets.

The under-18 squad will be in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., for a trio of tilts against the Soo Jr. Greyhounds, while the Thunder Bay U-15 side are off to Oak Bluff, Man., just southwest of Winnipeg, for three contests vs. RINK Academy Prep School.

On-ice action for the U-18 Kings begins Friday at 7 p.m., before they meet the Soo again on Saturday in a noon start.

They’ll then conclude their series against the Jr. Greyhounds Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m.

Last weekend the team was in Manitoba where they took on RINK Academy’s U-18 club, with the hosts taking the first two games, by identical scores of 8-4, while Thunder Bay rebounded for a 5-1 victory in the finale.

As for the U-15s, they too begin play Friday, with an 8:45 p.m. ET face-off at the RINK Training Centre.

Their middle match-up is slated for Saturday at 2 p.m., before they wrap things up Sunday at 11:45 a.m.

The U-18, U-16 and U-15 Kings’ teams are all gearing up to begin their first season competing in the Greater Toronto Hockey League, beginning in mid-November.
