Peewee Kings finish with win in Duluth

DULUTH, Minn. – The Thunder Bay peewee Kings wrapped up competition at the 40th annual Spirit of Duluth tournament Sunday in impressive fashion Sunday rolling to an 11-0 victory over the Superior Spartans.

It was all Thunder Bay in this one as they jumped out to a three-goal lead after one period of play on a pair of markers from Jett Mintenko and a single, compliments of Jack Pineau.

The Kings then broke the game open in the middle session tacking on four more markers off the sticks of Pineau, Adam Blazino, Alex Remenda and Josh Lehto.

They then finished off the one-sided result with tallies from Pineau, Remenda, Zach Biniaris and Matthew Beazley in the final frame to wrap things up.

Oliver Tuchenhagen finished with 13 saves to post the shutout for Thunder Bay.

Next up for the peewees will be the Kings CCM Showcase, powered by One Hockey, Dec. 16-18 at Fort William First Nation Arena.
