Skate with the Kings Dec. 18 to Make 150 Count
THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Thomas Brassard of the Thunder Bay major midget Kings is doing his part to help Make 150 Count.
The defenceman with the major midgets, in conjunction with RBC’s Let’s Make Canada’s 150th Anniversary Count Initiative, has organized a free skate with the Thunder Bay Kings from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18 at Fort William First Nation Arena.
The skate will take place after the conclusion of the Kings CCM Showcase, powered by OneHockey, which goes next weekend at FWFNA.
Skaters, friends and family members are being asked bring unused or extra hockey equipment and/or canned foods to drop off at the event.
The equipment received will be donated to northern First Nations communities while all the food donations will go directly to the local Regional Food Distribution Association.
“We would like to commend Thomas Brassard for his outstanding efforts in organizing this event and for not only making a difference in our community, but also doing his part to help make the upcoming holiday season just a bit better for those in need,” offered Kings President Gary Linquist.
“The free skate with the Kings will be a tremendous way to wrap-up our Showcase event.”
