Trio of Kings named to NAPHL all-star rosters

BLAINE, Minn. – The North American Prospects Hockey League has announced that three Thunder Bay Kings players have been named to the rosters for the upcoming NAPHL all-star games, which will be held Sunday, Dec. 4 in Blaine, Minn.

Representing the major midget Kings in the under-18 all-star game will be forward Quintin Loon-Stewardson while forward Owen Belisle and goaltender Christian Cicigoi were selected to compete in the U-16 contest.

The games will feature players who are considered top NAPHL prospects in their respective birth-years.

This marks the second straight year Loon-Stewardson has earned a NAPHL all-star nod.

The 16-year-old Sioux Lookout product also represented the Kings in last season’s U-16 game where he scored once and added an assist.

Loon-Stewardson is currently tied for the major midgets team lead in NAPHL scoring with 10 points in 13 outings on six goals and four assists.

As for Belisle, he’s second on the minor midgets in NAPHL offensive production with eight points in 13 games, including three tallies.

Cicigoi meanwhile boasts a solid 2.14 goals-against average and .915 save percentage in seven appearances in NAPHL play.

The two 15-year-olds are both from Thunder Bay.

Each all-star game is part of the NAPHL’s fourth regular season event of the season, which will feature all 45 NAPHL teams, each playing in four regular season games from Dec. 3-5 at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minn.

Every NAPHL game is streamed live online at HockeyTV.com.
