Bantam Kings to Silver Stick in Port Huron; peewees to Minnesota Gone Wild

THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Kings will have a pair of clubs on the tournament trail this weekend with the AAA bantams heading to Port Huron, Mich., for the 55th annual Silver Stick International while the peewees travel to Blaine, Minn., to take part in the fifth Minnesota Gone Wild event, powered by OneHockey.

The Oakland Jr. Grizzlies of Michigan will be the bantams’ first opponent in a contest that goes Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Thunder Bay then takes to the ice twice Friday in Port Huron beginning with a 12:30 p.m. encounter vs. the York-Simcoe Express before tangling with the Chicago Fury at 8 p.m.

The Kings will then conclude round robin play Saturday at 2 p.m. against Belle Tire of Detroit.

As for the peewees, Thunder Bay starts off Friday at 12:45 p.m. against the River East Marauders of Manitoba.

The San Diego Jr. Gulls provides the competition later in the day as the two teams meet at 7:20 p.m.

Saturday has the peewees taking on Omaha AAA of Nebraska and the Iowa Wild at 8 a.m. and 2:35 p.m. respectively.
